Hi From the UK!
Hi!
Just a message to introduce myself. I’ve just bought a 2004 2000SR3 here in the uk with a 5.7 Thunderbolt.
Cosmetically, she’s in great condition with only 200 hrs. Unfortunately she’s missing the Bimini and frame, (used more for rain protection than sun over here!)
Mechanically, I need to rebuild the leg as she’s chewed up the upper gears - hence buying a a great price ( pending me finding more gremlins!)
I’m not new to maxums - I bought a new 1800sr3 in 2006 which I loved - the 2000 was out of my price range at the time (although 20 years later, good ones are still commanding a similar price. I bought a bit of a project 1800mx over the summer but this one came at a steal so I’ll probably finish the 1800 and sell in the spring.
I’ve got a long list of bits to sort - canvas studs missing or broken, gas struts, possible fit an Evadeck floor if £ stretch that far, bidge locker is totally detached, engine compartment needs the deepest degrease outside of an oilfield and a complete service on everything - but the priority is to get the leg off, rebuild the upper gearbox and strip and service the lower unit.
Oddly, it has a 1.62 drive - could anyone with a 2000Sr3 with the 5.7 (350 Chevy block I assume?) confirm that 1.62 was factory - or has it had a previous leg swap on it in the past.
Cheers. Tom
