Talking Hello from the Hudson River NY

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself, I'm in the process of purchasing a 2001 Maxum 3000 scr and look forward to taking many trips up and down the hudson and into long island etc.

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated as this is my first boat!

Welcome aboard!

You said this is your first boat but are you new to boating? If so I recommend taking a safety course. Once you have the boat take a week day off when there will be few folks on the water and practice maneuvering the boat in tight right hand and left hand circles to get a fell for how it handles. Being a 3000 I’m assuming it has twins which will make this easier as you can put one engine in forward and the other in reverse and the boat will turn on a dime.
