First time boat owner - Maxum SR 2100

I just bought my first boat and thought I'd introduce myself.

Live in South Texas around Lake Conroe - will be my primary lake.

Found an original owner 2000 SR 2100 that was in fantastic shape for a great price. It has the 5.0 engine - I believe rated at 200hp.

I am excited to learn and enjoy my 'new' boat - look forward to spending time in this forum.

I am needing to purchase one of the infamous gold letters for my port side - I am missing the 'A'. I've checked Great Lakes Skipper but he seems to only offer the serif type 'A'. Any suggestions - eBay doesn't turn anything up at the moment either.

Doubt you'll fine the letter.

Is your 5.0 a 2 or 4 bbl carb?

I concur that finding the letter is probably not going to happen. I am only missing the one letter so I will likely leave the others on - but if more start to come off then I will probably remove all of them and resort to just a final sticker.

I am not sure on the carb question - didn't take a detailed look at the carb. I am thinking just a 2 bbl, but not 100% sure. Did the Merc come with two different setups in the 5.0 for the Maxum line?

I think the typical 5.0 came with the 4 bbl and rated at 220HP.

Yes I have and unfortunately they don't have the letter I need.

Thanks for the info - the guy I bought it from told me 200bp and likely 2 bbl carb - but he wasn't very mechanically inclined
