Even before ice builds up, there should be water droplets on the little tubes after its been running for a bit. That's normal.

If they look dry, touch them... Carefully. One will be cold, one...

On the unit itself. Not sure where yours is, mine is under the forward berth. It will be all over the evaporator, usually starts from the bottom and works up. Might take an hour or two to build up.

Run it again, and see if there is ice growing on the unit.

Your boat is in the water right? These ac units raw water to cool the condenser....
