probably only 2 that are mounted mid engine..the back is supported by the bellhousing/coupler and outdrive...as for damage..bout the only thing that it does is reduce vibration too the hull and...

they are fairly easy to replace them...just need to get an engine hoist or something to lift the engine up about an inch or so...then pull like 4 bolts and it's free...then replace them...
