That should be for your depth finder. The paddle-wheel was never used for your Speedo. It doesn't matter whether it spins or not.

I would ignore the speedo. They are notoriously inaccurate. Do you really want a hose with water going straight to the underside of your dash where your fuse blocks are located?

GPS is way more...
