OK I confirmed that the neutral safety switch wires are yellow/red. one end comes from the S terminal of the ignition switch and the other end goes to the coil of the slave solenoid.

The safety lynard switches don’t prevent the engine from cranking only starting as they remove power from the ignition. Try bypassing the neutral safety switch to see if you get consistent cranking....
