Exactly! My 1997 2400 SCR has the in dash unit with the transducer mounted in the ER, it works but gets flaky (loses readings) at times.

I believe the factory install it’s transducers in the engine compartment, round puck but someone may have installed a replacement on the transom or it’s for an added electronic such as a gps/chart...
