I tried a nipple in it end of last season to drain oil. The pan is not NPT, as you said the pitch was wrong.

Trying to find out the thread size on my drain pan, without removal. Can't find this info anywhere I've looked. Anybody help? Is it a common size across most pans? 97 mercruiser 3.0 LX.
