Sounds like second bilge pump in '97 2300 and will not stop running.

the switch is suppost to light up when its on, so...

the switch is suppost to light up when its on, so you can put a new switch in for $4 bucks.

sounds like your battery charger fan running....

turn battery switch to off, and see if it goes away.

battery charger will run when it feels like it, and you can hear it in the cabin.
