Hopefully this will work, here are 3 pictures of the boat. One shows the deck section I want to mount the pylon to. 1 shows the rear wall of the ski locker with the small hole near the top.

I too was putting my money on it being the fuel pump, and yes, the yellow hose runs to the carb but I didn't know it's function. Thanks for the info. Seapuppy was talking about an inline fuel filter....
