mine would do it too. 5-10 minutes and then she'd begin sputtering and crap out on me. 1/2 later, she'd run again.
found it late at night when running it in the driveway... when it started to...

Changed tstat with a new 160* fail safe unit. Flushed raw water side with salt away.
Still runs 205* on the extra gauge i installed.
Should the heat exchanger outlet hose be hot to the touch?!...

$325 for an engine driven pump??? Omg. Is that for a new pump or just impeller?
Just replaced my impeller, $29 and 45 minutes. That included chasing the threaded holes with a tap.

similar problem. getting to use a neighbors boat. 2001 2300sb with the 350 efi, f/w cooled with the bravo 3.
when i first got ahold of her, he did ZERO maintenance.
the outdrive was plugged....

Repairing it for a neighbor. While running on earmuffs, there is no raw water...
