I paired the inverter install with a full rewire of pretty much all of the powering of the boat. New electrical panel (lots of pics in there). Moved the starter battery to the starboard side for...

When the rpms kicked up, the boat slowed down -- it was definitely not driving the prop, or at least the prop wasn't providing thrust. "everything working fine" was that we were able to plane home...

2800 7.4L/Bravo3 - shifter sticking/motor free revving under load

While out on the lake earlier this week, I ran into a weird situation with our 2800. After we'd been out for a while, stopped for a while, turned the boat back on, and went for another leg, when I...

Got out to the boat today and checked it out. So, there's actually no vent filter, just a vent line that goes up to a through-hull! I could just splice a vent filter in, but I think the real answer...

Yeah, when we pump out next I'm going to start a regimen of holding tank probiotics and such, but I want to address the probably-not-replaced-in-19-years vent filter at teh same time. :)

Holding Tank Vent Filter Size?

Every time we flush/pump the head, we get a nice whiff of holding tank fumes. Seems like it's time to change out the vent filter. Anyone know what size it is? Next time I'm out there I can go...

Changing out galley faucet/head?

We're tired of the useless faucet head in our galley sink (1999 2800 SCR). At anything other than full blast it pours water on the countertop, which is slowly becoming a huge pain. Anyone had a...

Yeah I found the threads about the reverse being fairly common, but since it works great on normal 12V, it's likely another issue. Will probably just ignore it for now and if I ever need to tear...

I'm talking about sitting connected to shore power. If I flick on the fridge breaker, it immediately stops the compressor (but the light on the dial stays on) -- flick it back off, compressor starts...

Hahaha -- maybe the 97 is smaller? The 9" didn't really "fit" on my 99 either -- I had maybe 2mm of plastic at the top left/right corners and at the bottom center for the cutout, and the 4...

Fridge stops working on AC

We just noticed during a cruise this weekend that, when I enable the AC to the fridge, it stops cooling. The light stays on inside, but the compressor won't run. If I turn off the AC to the fridge...

I didn't bother with the metal strap since the wood there is quite thick (1/2" or more), and so far, it hasn't fallen off! It's worked great on a couple trips so far, and I just picked up and...
