I have a 98 2800 scr with twin 4.3's, it planes quick and I get about 2 miles per gallon cruising at 28mph. With the twins its pretty easy to dock without a bow thruster.

Look on ebay or craigslist for a used one. If you get a small 7'6"roll up with a inflatable floor it only weighs about 65lbs. you could store it on the bow. Or if you deflate it to store they roll up...

I ordered canvas from Letas last year for my 2800 , great quality for the price ,mine fits great. I would suggest going to a fabric store and buy a good snap installer and if you have twist locks...
