One last question, did you use screws to attach...

One last question, did you use screws to attach the supports to the hull at the bottom? There is no access on the inside of the hull to put a backing plate.

I may have to scratch this idea...I looked closer...

I may have to scratch this idea...I looked closer at he footrest/wedge and it appears to be filled with foam. Guessing for buoyancy??? It wouldn't be hard to clean the foam out after cutting the hole...
