Default winter storage & black water

Just getting ready to get the boat out for the winter. My bad, the services at the gas dock ended on October 15. I was hoping for a pump out but missed it. The boat gets stored in a heated warehouse (heated as in kept above freezing). Is this a big problem? Is there anything I should add to the tank?

thanks for the anticipated words of wisdom

Call a septic system cleaner or a portable toilet company that has a truck ( honey wagon ) that could pump you out.

If not I would dilute your tank with water.

I agree with Roger however if only pee and not much you could get away with it, been there done that one year but only a gallon which most was sea water and anti-freeze.

There is definitely some fecal matter in there. I'll investigate the infamous "honey wagon".

thanks again

At the risk of being called persnickety......I would strongly suggest making a practice of emptying the holding tank more frequently. Even the holding tank chemicals recommend not storing it more than 5 or so days.

I definitely wouldn't store it with contents in it over the winter.

If your boat has a mercerator, you may want to try emptying out your tank into a pail and then disposing of it appropriately. Will definitely not be a fun job, but sitting waste can permeate through plastic tanks and hoses, and even when you pump it out next year, the smell will be hard to get rid of.

Additionally it can solidify and then not be able to pump out.

Managed to stop by a marina that was still open and they pumped it out while it was in the trailer. Tucked away in heated warehouse for the winter. Thanks for all of your help
