I would research windlass manufactures as they rate their product according to boat length where a certain model will be good up to a certain boat length. If you are at the maximum length for a certain model I would go one size up.

It's is a Windlass. I moved the thread to its own thread.

Delta is Lewmar's model name of a plow-style anchor.

https://www.lewmar.com/sites/default...ifications.pdf

you'd be looking for between a 22lb or 35lb anchor. I had a 22lb Rocna and then later a 25lb manson supreme on my 2800 SCR. I would look at the new-generation anchors like Rocna, Manson Supreme, Spade. I am not a fan of old anchor designs like Bruce, Danforth, Plow. New generation anchors overall, perform much better.

Use the sizing chart from each manufacturer.

Windlass style (e.g. Horizontal or Verticle) are determined by the space available in the anchor locker. the size of teh windlass is determined by the size of the anchor and chain.
You would typically be using 1/4" chain and 1/2" line.

My 3000 came with a Lewmar V700 and it's performed Ok.

I feel the drop from the deck to the bottom of the locker is marginal on the 3000 to handle this windlass as I have had numerous occasions where I have to adjust the rode as it coils up to allow it to drop sufficiently to avoid a jam.
With an all chain rode this may not be an issue...

I like the low profile of the vertical style, but would entertain going to a horizontal if it ever fails, as these types seem to work better with limited 'drop'.

As Shrew mentioned, the size and shape of the locker will determine what will work best for each model.
