Default Unplugging LED Trailer Lights Before Launching...

I've always unplugged my trailer lights prior to backing the trailer into the water but have recently upgraded them all to LED and was told I would not need to unplug them anymore..

Opinions ?

Should be safe. The issue was more with the heat generated by conventional bulbs and then cooling too fast. LED runs cool though so they should be fine if submerged.

That was the deal with the regular bulbs that they would be so hot they would pop if they hit something cool like water. I had the sealed trailer lights and stilled unplugged them all the time. Force of habit I quess. I would say if the manufacture says you don't have to do it....then don't........

Happy Fourth of July to everybody.......
