Default Transom Saver

Looking for place to find right support brackets or traipsing clips for my gen 2 out drive. Seems that they are different for different out drives. Any recommendations? They can be cut to size yes?

I had one for my second boat that I trailer, it had an Alpha. The bracket was advertised as made for the Alpha. That was over a decade ago so I do not recall the manufacture but I bought it from West Marine.

A transom saver and trailering clips are totally different things. Trailering clips keep the outdrive from coming down due to hydraulics not holding. Transom saver is a pole that deliver the load of the outdrive to the trailer, rather than the transom. This generally only used on outboards.

Both keep the drive up, but trailering clips do not take load off the transom.

Thanks, actually that's what I thought the trailering clip only really removed the load from the trim hydraulics that occurs when bouncing down the road.

Well, technically, they take the loading off the hydraulic valve. The bracketey and hinges still carry the same load. I think of them more as insurance against your drive coming down due to a hydraulic leak more than anything else.
