Trailer VIN decal/plate unreadable

Hello everyone. So a question for you all. My new to me boat and trailer, the trailer VIN and information decal has been damaged somehow along the way. Being I was told the original factory that built the trailer tfor he Maxum is now out of business, how does a person go about getting a new replacement decal or a letter proving it is what it is ? I have the title from the original owner, but still would like all my bases covered incase I ever sell the unit. Anyone ever face this ?? How did you remedy the situation ? Don't know where you are at, but I just stamped mine with metal stamps on the frame!

Are you in another country? IF so, what local jurisdiction handles registration of boat trailers?
