Default towing w/ 08 Tundra

I know this thread is old, but I found it very informative.

I tow my 2700 scr (7.4L BravoII) with an 08 Tundra 5.7L SR5/ TRD w/ factory towing package (trany cooler & gauge), after market electric brake controller, and air bags (45lbs ea while towing). This gives me over 11,000 lbs of towing capacity and around 1,000 lbs of tongue weight.
I figured the boat and trailer weight approx. 8,500-8,900lbs. I removed all the extra stuff (water empty, 20 gal fuel, min gear) prior to hauling it from lake to storage 60 miles away. I never exceed 50mph on new tires. I average 30-45mph on back roads with minimal traffic and only one large hill to climb. It takes me about 2 hours to make this transit. The truck does a great job and handles the weight and load with ease.

I wouldn't do this with any less truck. The Tundra truly is a beast.
