Default Tips on buying a used dinghy for my Maxum

Hi - I’m in Dana Point and searching for a good dinghy Solution for or 27’ Maxum. Husband doesn’t want it pulled up on the stern all the time, blocking our view from cockpit and making acces into the boat difficult. He’s thingking we should go the roll up route instead. Any suggestions? Recommendations on how to find used ones?

Thanks! First boat! First dinghy!

I have no expierence with a roll up but would think it would turn into a chore trying to get all the air out and roll it up to be compact enoug to store on board. I would look into a swim platform for extension.

Look on ebay or craigslist for a used one. If you get a small 7'6"roll up with a inflatable floor it only weighs about 65lbs. you could store it on the bow. Or if you deflate it to store they roll up pretty compact you use the pump to deflate and it takes all the air out sort of like its vacuum sealed. Also look at Harbormen Marine dinghy sling you can store it on a angle and not block the view.

We used a roll-up on our 2800 for over 10 years. We inflated and deflated it out on the deck. IT can be easily hauled and launched over the rail. I could do it by myself, however it's much easier with 2 people. Once you get a system down it doesn't take long at all.

Many thanks. Not everyone is familiar with Dana Point. This is a Global Forum.
