Default Steering Wheel

When we purchased our 2001 3000 scr, the steering wheel is not lined up straight. I took the center nut off of it, but it doesn't want to come off and I did not want to put too much force, not knowing if there is some trick to getting it off. Should I use a wheel puller ?
Thanks in advance
Tom

I just changed my steering wheel on 2400 SCR, experienced the same thing. I Sprayed liquid wrench on center shaft after I removed the big nut and washer, let it sit for a while and tap the center shaft with hammer and wheel should easily come off.
