Bella, I advise you to not bring your boat to Powell.

You will be unable to return to Mead for anything but convenience.

Hey No7,

You’re certainly right, no doubt about Powell being the prettier of the two. God knows I could had sent a third kid through college in the fuel bills I spent exploring there (Wilsons cove being my favorite) with my 1992 2300SCR Pocket Cruiser. Bella is a little too big to leave Mead for a whim weekend. Although we possess the towing rig to do it with ease. You see Mead is a compromise both of Lake and weather. For example; 74’ here and a chilly 45’ at Powell today. I’m in it for the loooong haul. Year round boating, not just a few weeks a year like that of trailer boats.

I realized my dream though. Live in Boulder 10 minutes from Bella’s swim step and 20 to the fine shows and fine restaurants of Vegas. Live the dream I say, life is short; summed up no better than Mark Twain put it.

“20 years from now you will be disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover!”

Bella Sera 3300SCR Out.

P.S. Mead is a close second tho!! 

Yea, was just giving you a bad time, Bella.

You do indeed have a better 4 season lake

But keep in mind--the only reason the water is warmer at Mead is because we pee in Powell, before sending it down

Say---you guys don't drink that, do you?

For that reason in a perfect world I think that boat designers should be made to do two things:

1. Actually work and perform maintenance on their design. I’m referring to the absolute idiocy in placement of components and their difficult access.

2. Be forced to spend a week actually piloting the boat and interacting with it to see the Pro’s and Con’s in their design.

Don’t get me wrong, every boat is a compromise but it baffles me why Maxum would miss such a basic core feature in design?

Enjoy your Biggn’!

Bella Sera 3300SCR

I have taken her out solo, there is a built in step and the eisenglass unzips rather easily however its not nearly as quick getting to the bow as it was on the 2800. On windy days she is like docking a giant billboard. Those are the days you dont want to do it alone!

Which pictures are you asking about?

If mine, they are all from Lake Powell.

Picking up my "new to me" 1995 2400 SCR Thursday 17 April 14. New fuel cell, bellows, impeller, bottom paint, and vinyl. Needs troubleshooting speedo, trim indicator, depth, and VHF. There are some cosmetics, as to be expected with a 19 yr old boat, but overall in good shape. 345hrs on the 5.7 Mercruiser Alpha One, small nick on one prop blade but changing to 4 blades soon. I've been on a pontoon, that's been great for 6 yrs, but I am really looking forward to having a small cabin with a door to close when certain people are too much. Anyway, just wanted to say hello, I have read a whole lot of this forum already but I am sure I will come up with a question or two soon. If you have any suggestions prior to my questions, please feel free. I am mechanically incline, but not electrically ("if the smoke gets out, the wires no longer work").

Turner welcome aboard.

Not sure what your attachments are I can not view them for some reason.
Post some pictures when you get her and ask away. Electrical question are a none issue.

Nice! The big brother to my boat. I really like the color scheme. Doesn't get too hot in the sun like some of the darker interiors.

Enjoy!

Nice fish, you don't see many Maxum's in pictures with big fish.
