Salon or Bridge or Cockpit???? - Maxum Boat Owners Club

Ok, Now can someone answer this question correctly? What is the Difference between the Salonb Bridge or Cockpit cover? I have a 1999 Maxum 2800SCR. It has the Bimini that attachs to the arch. Then the front window, 2 side windows and 2 rear windows that go from the arch to the back. I have heard this called a camper cover. Now NADA does not list camper cover. So... what is the diff :?: :?: :?: :?:

well..the salon is down in the inside of the boat where the galley is located...that's the salon...
the cockpit is up in the sunbridge area...now this sometimes gets cornfused as the helm is where you steer the boat from....

so...the low cover that covers the whole cockpit area is called a cockpit cover......if it's up and attached to the radar arch in your case..with the side panels up...then it's called a camper cover....

Well it answers kind of yes. But again the NADA does not list anything for a Camper cover. So then would this be a bridge cover? I can enclose from the widshield tp the bimini to the arch and then down to the back. Yes.. I agree that it is a camper cover. But for NADA standing.... Would one book it as a Bridge cover or cockpit cver or salon cover?

Can it get any more confusing?

well..it's definitely not a salon cover....that's down below ...

I'm not sure how they would classify it then if they aren't calling it a camper cover...if you go to the maxum site and pull up any larger boat model..it's called a camper canvas....the cockpit covers from windshield level....

I'm not trying to argue symantic's with you but they are called 2 different names...one covers the cockpit at windshield level while the camper canvas allows you to live and operate the boat while the top is up....

No, I am not arguing at all. Just confused. I agree with you that it is a camper cover. And I agree the cockpit cover cover the cockpit from the top of the windsheild stright down to the back. And the salon is down stairs. So. Just have to figure out how to speak NADA. lol

ok..I just pulled up the nada website and they are asking for the cockpit cover...that, believe is the whole camper canvas we're talking about....

at least that's my belief....

Ok!!! Here we go. A direct quote from NADA. now we will all know. I emailed them and asked them what they are calling what. This is cut and pasted from their reply.

Cockpit Cover covers the cockpit no Isinglass just canvas and you can’t stand up under it.

Bridge Enclosure encloses the bridge of a sportfisher with a flybridge or an express cruiser bridge with canvas and isinglass.

Salon Enclosure encloses the salon or aft entertaining area of a boat with canvas and isinglass.

Salon enclosure with a bridge enclosure is what it sounds like you have because it is covering the bridge all the way back to the outdoor aft salon or entertaining area of the boat and you can stand up under it.
