Default Reverse Cycle Heat

Stupid question, is there a breaker you have to put on in order to get heat? The fan comes on but it's just cold air? I just bought the boat a few days ago. And is the heat electric and can only be run on shore power? Thanks for your help.

The boat probably have a reverse cycle system, basically it's a heat pump.

Power comes from either shore power or a generator. Yes the AC breaker needs to be on. The boat must be in the water as the system uses the water as the medium fir heat transfer instead of air like a house system.

New post hijacking a 3 yr. old thread. Moved to a dedicated thread.

ditto. A/C and Heat require raw water. The boat needs to be in the water with the seacock to the A/C pump open. This works on VAC (shorepower or generator) and runs off of a 30amp fuse. The pump and fan, heat and A/C all run off of the same breaker.

Thank you so much, I guess I must have burnt out the element because the heat doesn't work, it just comes out cold. Do you know where the heater box is located? I have hot water but no heat. .?
Thank you all for your time, John

There is no heating element. Can you post a picture of the control panel?

That's the power AC panel I was refer to the air conditioning control panel. The one used to set the temp you want.

Ok what is the current air and water temp?

If you put it on cold to cool is the air cooler than when trying max warm?

With either cool or warm on is there a stream of water coming out a small thru hull on the side of the boat? This will tell you if the raw water pump is working that provides outside water to the system.

Do you have a set of analogue dials? One would read "Off/Fan/Air", the other reads "Cooler -------> Warmer".

If this is the case, then your model is A/C only and doesn't have a heating option. There are two models. One is A/C only, then other is Heat and A/C.

If it doesn't actually say 'HEAT' then you have an A/C only option.

Forgot to ask if the seacock is open as well. If closed the pump cannot draw in water from outside the hull to pump through the systems heat exchanger.
