replace the manual toilet

Hi Guys,
Proud owner of my first boat, a Maxum 3300 SCR. Love everything about the boat except the manual toilet. I want to replace it with an electric one. What have you guys had good luck with? Is it easy to replace it? I have basic skills when it comes to repairs and improvements. Thanks!

I've replaced the head, sanitation line and holding tank. However, I replaced a manual head with another manual manual head. The job itself is fairly easy. You are going to introduce a minor level of complexity in that you're going to need to also do the following:

1) Wire in a common ground large enough for the circuit to the head.
2) A positive from the fuse panel (including a new fuse) to a switch.
3) Wire a positive from the switch to the head.

Like Shrew mentioned, I would find a blank space on the fuse panel so as to designate it to the head. Same for the ground. You should be able to remove toilet paper holder and fish wires to mount the button on the wall unless you have a different toilet in mind. I plan to replace mine next year.

Just replaced mine with the Jabsco 37010-0090. Wanted to go the Raritan Elegance route, but Amazon had the Jabsco model for under $400 delivered.

Had to spin the base 90 degrees so the motor assy would fit. (3000 SCR)

For power, run a new line for the head. Use the 10 gauge as called for as these things pull a lot of juice, and fuse properly.

This model is a little noisy, but has worked great the past few weekends we've been onboard.

Jabsco makes a conversion kit so you don't have to buy a whole new toilet. My electric one had me pulling my hair out for a while, though. Long story short, the impeller had swelled and the motor couldn't spin it. So expect more maintenance with replacing impellers and such every so often.
