Red face Repair gel coat, fiberglass, both?

I recently purchased a '98 Maxum and just discovered some damage on the bow next to one of the bow cover snaps. It's a circular-shapes crack about 1/2" in diameter with a small hole. See attachment. Looks like the hole goes through the gel coat but not the fiberglass?

Not knowing hull design very well, my biggest concern is whether any water could have got through and caused additional damage? (The boat is in other immaculate condition.)

Secondly, I want to repair this gel goat and/or fiberglass damage. Any suggestions on method and what I might expect this to cost?

Thanks!
Tom

Tom that looks like impact damage. Use a dremel and grind away the gel coat them apply new gel coat. I believe spectrum makes the factory "Dream White" that Maxum used.

Thanks Mike. You're suggesting I remove the entire cracked area (1/2" diameter) and fill back in with gel coat? Is this the product?
PATCH PASTE KIT

Your snaps look riveted and they don't look like there is any caulk in them. How is water being prevented from ingression at the snaps?

I just recently filled some gouges with the spectrum paste. It worked really well but keep in mind that the gel paste in dream white is way too white! even on a sanded area but the actual gel coat I bought in dream white was spot on which was odd.
I would buy a tint kit and tint the paste to match before applying.
The paste has wax in it for curing isn't a problem on it's own.
