Test ride and a survey. Makes all the difference in the world.

Enjoy the chase...

saw your name and I had to comment...
My cousin's name is Bobby Beach. I highly doubt your him but I thought it was funny nonetheless lol

I have no experience with the 41 SCA models, but I do love my 2700SCR.

Thanks for all advice. Survey and sea trail are scheduled. I am thinking about getting Cummings tech to check engines, however fee is 800. Think I will wait and sea what sea trial shows. Thanks to ll Bobbybeach

It's not usually the hull that goes on that size boat, it's the repower that kills you. Sure, make sure the boat is sound structurally, but consider how much a repower will cost you. At the end of the day, when you're shelling out for new diesels, do you care that you saved $800.00 on an engine survey?

IMO - Get the engine survey. $400 each sounds very reasonable. If they don't condemn the engines at least you'll know what condition they are in and what expenses you can look forward to in the future. If there are issues, documentation may even get you some more negotiating room.

Had a friend lose a engine last sumer. Over $12k dumped in that hole in the water + over a month without the boat. And that was only a little 'ol 454 gasoline engine.

We spent $450 on a boat survey that turned up a lot of issues. Weird that I gladly wrote that check for a non-purchase.

Thanks for your response. Good point about negotiating with seller on issues, if you are not aware of issues, you cannot enter discussion of price. In long run the cost is minimal when you consider cost involved if there is problem with engine.
Thanks, I appreciate you responding.

Great advise from all and am looking forward to being n this site one regular basis. Rally food group of maxum owners
