Default Norcold Refrigerator Not Working

The refrigerator in my 97 2700 is not working, it runs but does not cool. How much of a pain is it to remove one of these? Is there any chance it could be repaired without removal? Any suggestions on where to get serviced in the South Puget Sound?

Any comments if it is worth repairing or should it be replaced, replacement cost is around $600.

not sure where to send you down south...but to remove the refer, there is a face plate...there is a couple of screws that hold it in place..then it slides out......removing those screws is what holds the entire fridge in place....

I'll do some research for the south sound as to who can repair it or you might replace it completely....

SP...and welcome to the zoo...hope you can stick around...

I replaced the one in my '96 2700 a few years ago. Same symptoms as yours. The hardest part was getting it in and out of the cabin. The connections are pretty straight forward. Remember it's AC/DC so be sure both power sources are off before disconnecting or connecting wiring. I bought a new one from Boater's World. I'm pretty sure BOAT/US - West Marine, and other sources carry them.

I just replaced mine. It would cool but not shut off or run on 12V. I found parts but the two that I needed were $50 for the thermostat and $250 for the transformer module. I decided to go with a new one. Easy install, only 4 screws and two wires. The AC was just plugged in. The only down side of my new one is that it is very noisy. It vibrates alot and resonates in the cabinet. I will have to try to isolate it more. West Marine actually had the best price I could find.

I am wanting to remove mine completly, and replace with an ice chest. I pulled the fridge out of the wall, That was easy, But when I measured it and the door way I realized I had a problem. How did you guy's get yours out of the cabin? Perhaps thru the forward hatch?

What size is your fridge? Does it work? I plan to replace my icebox for a fridge.

If I remember correctly, we had to take the door off the fridge. Then it just squeezed thru the widest part of the doorway. Tight fit, but it did go thru.
