Default New Maxum Owner joining the ranks

Hey everyone new owner here. Picked up a 1997 Maxum 2100 SR2 with a 5.7l EFI. So happy to have a fuel injected motor, had my problems with carbed motors int he past. We can rise and drop 3500 feet at the various lakes around here. Now the long wait until summer gets here.

I did have one question, what is the difference between the SR and SR2?

Thanks in advance,

Todd

I'll be the first to welcome you to this great website Todd. Hope you enjoy that new ride of yours. That boat of yours looks nice. Here in Illinois just like you we are waiting for spring to come too! Don't know the difference between the sr or sr 2 but I'm sure someone will chime in.

Enjoy that new boat...

Welcome Todd and congrats on the new to you boat. I have the 96 2100SR though mine is 2bbl 5.7. Sure wish I had the EFI model
As for the SR and SR2 difference, for this model anyway it is the seating. The SR has the standard front and rear facing seats where the SR2 has captains chairs (hence the 2 as there are only 2 seats).
Mine is rated at 9 persons and I can easily fit 6 behind the glass and 3 in the bow (4 in the front and rear facing seats and the 2 jump seats next to the doghouse).

Hope she treats you well!!

Thanks for the clarification on the SR2 vs SR. I was very happy to get an EFI motor after having problems in the past with the carbed motor.
