Boat went back in the water yesterday and came back out for the winter. Couple small issues still, but overall a success.
However, the old port engine still spools up faster and tops out at a higher RPM than both the old and new starboard engines. I'm hoping it's the props aren't matched. But does anyone know the performance differences of the cams between a Gen V and Gen VI 7.4L? Thought I saw somewhere that the VI was less aggressive. Just wondering how that translates into performance of the engine...

Had the props measured- one was 21 and the other 23, so they're going to try pitching the 23 down. That would explain a lot..

I have been away and missed a lot. Hope you get things straightened out.

Any idea why the head gaskets blew?

I'm pretty sure I bought the boat like that. Raw water cooled from 1994 I guess.

Ok being that old not a surprise. You may recall I had to repower my 1997 last year.
