Default mi maxum2300 SR is a turtle???

hello, I bought a maxum 2300 sr of 1997 with v-8 5.7 engine of 210hp and I think it runs very little since it does not exceed 3,200 rpm and 20 knots of maximum speed. is this normal?

No... Give it a complete tune up and report back.

also check that there is no marine growth on hull or outdrive. What is the size of your prop (pitch and diameter).

Things to look into

1. Is the bottom clean, no growth?
2. What prop is on the boat?
3. Tune her up.
4. Engine health, compression test as a cylinder may be bad.

Do you know the diameter and pitch of your prop?
Can you get the gear ratio or serial number off of your sterndrive?

Not sure what you mean by standard. This is a 20 year old boat so I bet it's not the original prop and no guarantee it was replaced with the same pitch/diameter.

If you are confidant in the prop then try replacing the plugs, cap, rotor and wires probably due anyhow.

The engine should be able to run between 4400 - 4800 RPM's. It should be able to do this under load. Can it reach this RPM range in neutral? (I wouldn't do it for long.....not that you'd want to).

It should be able to reach this RPM range under load. IF it can't then the typical reasons are:

Overpropped
Boat overloaded (too much weight)
growth on the hull
Other (engine issues)
