Default Loose set screws

Is anyone else having problems keeping set screws tight? The sunbrella canopy on my 2100SC has a mixture of Phillips screws and set screws. Originally I thought these were metric 6 but a trip to the hardware store proved that fine thread is being used. Unfortunately, the Hardware store did not have Stainless, but the steel screws fill the hole and do the job. I am now in the process of "Notching" the tube and really cranking down on the set screw along with a dab of lock-tite. I would love to hear if anyone has a better solution.

Loc-tite is all you need. Had the same problem with a couple on my hatch, drop of loc-tite problem solved!
