The polarity light actually works but not the red power light (part#11521). It’s located on the dockside breaker panel - of course. Bought the boat last summer and I’m a bit fussy about have everything work - question: anyone know how I might get a replacement part. Thanks

I had the same problem and just took them apart and installed 120 volt leds in each one, works now but not as bright as I wood like.
West marine is where i got mine.

I haven't popped my panel yet to look at the lights. Concur with the idea to go with 120v LEDs. What style base do they have (you could just shoot me to West Marine url if that's easier). TIA

Thanks for the tips. Great idea of swapping out the incandescent lights to LED’s - I’ll keep that in mind. I will however, check West Marine to see if they have that part available - my laziness knows no bounds

So here I am in the depths of winter and the most obvious thing that springs to my mind is the Polarity Light part #11521 - that I can’t find a replacement for - nor know the name of the manufacturer

BTW donald and PJHoffnet, I don’t see how anyone could possibly solder an LED into such a tiny space. I would prefer to buy a new part - I don’t know the manufacturer of this part (Polarity Light 11521) and I’m also a bit of a stickler with getting original parts back in my 2000 2800 Maxum scr. If I could get a manufacturer name - that would be much appreciated. Thanks

The LEDs have leads that are long enough to easily do the soldering.
Just remove the lamps, pop the lens, remove the old bulb and connectors, drill a hole in the back the same size as the LED and install LED, cut the spade connectors off and wire up.
Easy.

Research Arcolectric (arco for shorthand)
They supplied a number of the switches and indicators for many Brunswick models.

I doubt you will find the part by the Maxum part number. That is a 3rd party product that Brunswick assigned an internal part number too. A local electronics supply store would carry something like this. This is why I regret that Radio Shack closed. If you can find an independent electronics store (they are out there, but I have to drive to get to it), they would have what you're looking for.

While I still haven't been able to find a replacement, I've gotten a bit closer - hopefully. The company that makes the reverse polarity light on my boat was made by SoLiCo. I was able to find their web site and while the light doesn't show up in their current inventory, I've sent an email to their catalog folks to see if they can point me to something. Will let you know if I find anything.

I gave up on finding that light however, now that you’re getting closer to finding one, I might give it another try as well - with this new found info and website. In the mean time, I installed a Blue Seas volt meter - given that my 2800scr did not come with one - works like a charm. Thanks for the heads up on this matter.

I'll probably look around a bit more ... $34 per light and $15.75 for shipping comes to $83.75 for two light. Might just be me, but seems a bit steep.

That Polarity Light, if anything, is a safety device. Reverse polarity means your boat recepticals and anything plugged into them, can be a shock hazard. Shore power at a reputable marina shouldn’t be a problem. The malfunctioning SoLeCo in my 2800scr never worked properly and would occasionally illuminate for no apparent reason. I’m leaving it in the panel but might install an aftermarket polarity light somewhere else on the panel - just to have one

I'm assuming the wiring is Normal (good) is wired Positive and Ground and the Reversed (bad) is wired Neutral to Ground?

The wiring is Positive & nutural for power light and just the opposite for the reverse polarity light.
I posted how I did mine in another post on these lights, do a search and you will be able to find it.

Copy - I've got a request in for some other price quotes - most places only quote for bulk (500+) so I'm waiting for what they say for two.
