Default HELP THINGAMAJIGGER

Im not really sure what it would be called but im trying to find out if or where anybody knows how i can track down apart. The piece im looking for goes along the top part of the sliding door to go down in to the cabin. if you open up the main door to go down the stairs before you can go down you have too slide the upper part of the door to allow full abilaty to go down the stairs. their is a plastic trim piece that goes along the top sliding roof/deck/door? The boat is a 1995 2400scr. If anybody knows what the hell i just babbled about let me know THANKS!

I have a 1997 SCR 2800. I'm finding that most of the parts have been discontinued. Here's what I do:

1) Research the part using the original part number from the online parrts catalogues:

http://www.maxumcustomercare.com/catalogs_index.html

2) Call my local Maxum Dealer and give him the part number. They can cross reference against the replacement part number.

(Frequently the parts dealer will tell me that the part has been discontinued, or that there is no replacement part number for the part.) If this is the case, then I call U.S Marine (Maxum Manufacturer/Parent Company):

U.S Marine Parts & Customer Service Dept.: 360-435-8957
E-mail: boathelp@usmboats.com

They have far more info. and can give you suitable replacement part numbers to provide to your dealer. I recently called my local dealer to find a replacement holding tank. I was told there is no replacement part number and there are none in stock. I called US Marine and parts told me "Make sure you give them <this part number> and tell them to ignore the original part number as well as the Discontinued/Out of Stock notice. If they look atthe inventory there are still 5 available".

I hope this helps.

its not a door track. as posted i have a 1995 24scr. If your standing in the boat looking at the main door to get into the galley right above the main door their is a swinging door connected to the dash that pivots in a 180 degree swing that allows for head clearance to get down into the cabin. where that pivoting door is their a piece of plastic that is i believe a gap hider. its just a lite tan piece of plastic thats connected to the port side of the dash. i have searched all places i can think of! thanks
