Default Cover suggestions? 2004 1800 SR-3

New member, 1st (of likely many) questions about my newly acquired Maxum 1800 SR-3 with the extended swim platform.

Any preferences for a cover supplier for this boat? Since the boat will be on a covered lift during the boating season main purpose is protection over the winter during unheated barn storage, but will likely get some road time.

I see the 11 oz poly-cotton Carver custom out there... any others to consider?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been discussed before... I didn't have much luck searching.

Bryan

Hey Bryan, and welcome! Our 2001 2100 sr had been stored its whole life inside, so it looked brand new when we bought it in May of this year. The previous owner had moved it to a covered spot open on all 4 sides at the beginning of the '14 boating season. He purchased a Basspro shop brand cover for it. It has held up well over this period of time, and I would recommend looking at them if you have a basspro shop close by, or on their website. I do not have experience with any other covers. This cover is supposed to be rated for traveling on the road, but we always remove it for traveling.

Thanks deltaV.

No Bass Pro physically close by here in Minnesota, but I will check on-line.

Overton has a nice selection in your size that you can go online and not have to travel one foot. Look you good UV protection fabric and thread.

Just to close out this thread...

I purchased a Westland Sunbrella in the gray color. Fits like a glove, including over the swim platform. Haven't had a chance to attach the included 12 straps but I expect they will cinch it down nicely for trailering.

Thanks!
