Unhappy Changing microwave in 3200 SCR

I want to change the microwave in my 3200 SCR. The problem is that the original samsung is only about 9 1/2 inches tall, I cant find anything that small. I don't want to change any counter top or cupboard space, anybody have any ideas. The admiral is even willing to replace with a toaster oven?!?! Not too sure about that plan.....jesse

Hi I had the same problem with the micro wave oven in my 3000CSR. (I just could not fined a unit small enough too fit in) I am in Australia (240 v) I purchased the Maxum last year from the US and the micro wave with every thing else is 110 v. what I did was use the original Samsung smaller frame and retro fitted all the equipment out of the slightly large unit into it , every thing fitted straight in, now I have the original frame that fits into the opening with 240 v running gear, mined you I am an electrician, and would not suggest doing this if you have no competent or skills in this area ( the Dona micro wave oven came from a curb side collection ,so with a bit of recycling I saved a little head ache and helped the planet.)

Shame. That was about the only 9.5" (0.5 cu ft.) around that I saw. The closest I could find to that was a 10 1/4" here; http://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajm...tml?mv_pc=ysho

Do you think you could get the original repaired?

Maybe repair is the way to go.....but I was hoping that a new one would fit. Price wise, new over repair, but may have to repair....

You're right, repair will probably cost more than a new unit but a retrofit of a new larger model would be no fun either. Wht's the model number of the existing one? Maybe some snooping with that could produce soem better results?

When I turn it on it sounds like a spoon is inside. Lots of arcing noise, dont leave it on more than a couple of seconds......would love to just find a new one that fits!!!!

Sorry for the long delay I took some pics of what is inside of the M / Wave but I haven’t worked out how to use the new format for the pics !help, any way the only moving parts are 1 the plate drive motor and 2 the exhaust fan(upper front r.h.s.) I suspect the little exhaust fan may be hitting something inside. Apart from the 2 x motors there are only limit switches, thermal switches, a globe, the temp/time controller and the M /wave modulator I will try and get the pics up so you can see what I mean! help help how I load them lol

http://www.repairclinic.com/Microwav...idemymicrowave

"It looks like there's lightning (arcing) inside my microwave":

When you see arcing inside your microwave, it's because of food or liquid left in the cavity or on the wave-guide cover: If the wave guide has any burn spots, replace it and clean the unit well. If the cavity has any burn spots, spot-sand it smooth and touch it up with microwave interior paint. Note… If there are any burn holes in the cavity, don't use the unit-seek help from a qualified appliance repair technician.
