Exclamation Boat trailer sways/fishtails over 50mph

Hello, I'm just took my '98 Maxum boat (1900 SRL) on the freeway for the first time since purchasing last month from a dealer, and it sways or fishtails pretty bad at anything over 50mph.

I'm pretty sure tongue weight is the problem because i can lift it with one hand (maybe 15lbs) when I believe it should be closer to 150lbs.

Any suggestions? I hear some people move the trailer axles back (though they appear to be welded) or move the boat forward (though I don't see the required space for pulley assembly).

Thanks,
Tom

Tongue weight should be 15% of overall trailered weight.

Either move bow stop forward to shift boat forward or move axel back.

This may not require as much movement as you think.

Use a bathroom scale under the tongue jack to measure the weight.

You are correct, your tongue weight is very light. Like Mike said, you can use a bathroom scale. If you are OCD you can get your rig weighted to know exactly were your tongue weight should be.

Your dealer needs a kick in the ass. You could have lost it down the road!
