Default Battery switch & monitor questions

Good afternoon all,
I have several questions. My boat is 3100 SE 2004. with two batteries and gen set.
1 Which position should my battery switch be in, For House 1,2 or both.
and Engine 1,2 or both?

Next how can I tell which battery is one and which is two?

I have disconnected one battery and tested the system, but everything seams to work with either battery.

Thanks Cap 3100

For the house should be on all, 1 and 2.
Turning the Engine ON always all.
Take any of the battery power led of turn your selectors switch to one and try to turn the Engine. If nothing happens that’s the #1 battery. If turn the other battery is #1.
Good luck

If you turn your batteries to ALL and drain the batteries, how will you start the engine?

Good cach.
When he say for house ....I was thinking on the sleep.
Correcting myself..1 or 2 but before you start the engine turn to all, not after your engine is running.
