Default A/C Condensation route

I have a 01 3000. Long time ago I cleaned my a/c fins with a foam spray cleaner, then hosed it down with water per directions. This was my old a/c unit in which pan was very rusty and a lot of that rust got peeled off . It has been replaced with a new unit a year ago.

So the problem....when the condensation comes from the a/c it ends up in the engine bilge where it looks like poop water because it picks up this rust debris . I am trying to figure out the route this takes so I can flush it out when I haul out next month.

Any ideas?

Roger

Roger, can’t you redirect the drain pan hose to the shower sump box?

Even if I do that I still have a pile of liguid rust somewhere that I want to clean up. Before I cleaned the old a/c unit the water was cystal clear....

I guess I got to figure where that rust blob is hiding. I need to get camera probe would help...

Roger. Are you certain the water in the ER bilge is from the AC?
I only ask because maxum originally dumped the AC condensation from the pan into the forward bilge, not the aft ER.
If you are luck to have someone route it all the way back, back flushing may be the way to go.

Disconnect the line from the pan and extend it with a scrap of hose thru the forward porthole. Then flush with a garden hose from the ER.

The A/C drain pan commonly has a drain on the drain pan that goes into the bilge or into a sump box. If it goes into the bilge, consider routing it into a sump box instead.

You all are missing the point.I don't care where it goes too ....I would like to know the route it takes because somewhere I have a pile of rust paste that I want to clean up.

But thanks anyway....

Roger. As I mentioned, your pile of rustly sediment will be in front of the water tank in the forward bilge...That's how Maxum plumbed the drain if it's still factory.

I didnt want this draining into that area so I rerouted it, as many 3000 owners have done.
That's why I asked for clarification on where you found the rusty water..
it shouldn't be in the ER bilge unless someone extended the drain line all the way aft. (Note:The forward bilge does not connect to the ER bilge)

Thank you JP! That would make sense. Now how to get to it?

Thanks

That’s the clincher. Don’t know of anyway to get in there. I’ve cleaned that area out before by emptying the water tank and I was able to sneak a small hose underneath the tank that was taped to my shopvac. I was trying to get water out after trying to eliminate a funcky odor.
That’s also what lead me to reinstall the drain hose thru the same route behind the galley the supply line takes.

Yes, we got that. Sometimes the replies in the thread are to each other and not to you directly.

Mine drained into the forward bilge under the forward berth, then through the limber holes back to the bilge pump.

No bigey guys all is cool beans....JP I think I might try to spray with the garden hose underneath the water tank in the mid bilge compartment and then do the same in the engine compartment where the water comes out. Hopefully I can dilute the rust pile....
