2002 2900 scar water heater

I have a water leak coming from inside the cabin just under the steps. According to manual the water heater is located in that area. How would I get access to the water heater. Boat is 2002 2900 scr

Look inside the hatch in the cabin under the cockpit.

the hatch that opens in the floor just outside the head only has access to shower pump and seacock lever.

Are you certain the water heater is here? Most Maxums have it in the engine compartment. If you are correct there would be an access panel from the mid-berth.
