Default 2000 maxum 2800scr convert drive to v drive

Is it possible to convert a sterndrive 2800scr to a v drive. If so what would be the cost.

Holy Smoke... Erm, what a question.

Yes, plausible that you could do it. but the cost would be massive and you'd not know if it handled/worked any better until you'd done it... which would be too late to go back.

You'd need major hull modification. you'd need to turn the engine(s) 180 degrees. move the fuel tank probably, along with a total reworking of the stringers and other systems.

Why would you want this?

I agree with Brit Rider -- this would be a MAJOR, MAJOR conversion. I assume it's a twin-engine boat, so in addition to the items mentioned by Brit Rider, you would also have to cover the existing outdrive holes in the transon, plus cut elongated holes in the hull for the shaft logs. Also, add shift cables for the new transmissions since the existing sterndrive has combination throttle/shift cables. You're better off just trading for a V-drive boat.

not cost effective....anything is possible...enough money..time ...energy...but is it worth it for a boat that sized??...probably not...
