Default 1994 maxum 1800 SR2 bowrider

Need some feed back on this boat. It has the 4.3L and really runs well. The hours are low (mid 300's).
It does have the sport seating config. (full bench seat in the rear). But before I take the plung I would like to hear the good and bad about this boat. So, what can you folks tell me about it.
Is there anything I should look for On my final inspection and test ride?

welcome to the zoo...I hope someone with this model can chime in with personal experience soon for you...but from my aspect...please get it surveyed by a professional surveyor....get a compression check and find out when the risers were replaced...300 hrs in salt water can really be damaging......
also look for any rot or damage in the stringers and transome for water by getting a plastic mallet...carefully tap the hull....if it stays kinda solid..no water is present...if it sounds kinda like a thud...water damage...they are good boats and will certainly take more than you will...
also take the time to enroll in a boating safety course if you are a first time boater.....

hope this helps.....

I have a 94 1800XR with a Merc outboard. I can't tell you much about the 4.3, but I can tell you my boat handles great and all of the components are holding up well. I haven't seen any particular problems to look for on these boats. Like Seapuppy said, a survey is the best way to go.

I am curious to know what the first two letters of the hull ID number are. Maxum does not list a 1800SR2 for this year in their catalog.

Default hull numbers

The first 2 letters of the hull numbers are "US" .
It clearly says on each side of the boat 1800 SR2. I purchased the boat today after a good inspection. There was a couple of things found but not a deal breaker but it did allow me to get a better price.

I meant to type the 7th and 8th letters. All Maxums will start with US for US Marine.

Anyway, congratulations and welcome aboard. Please post some pictures for us to see.
