Default 1900 sr (2001)

Hello - I just found this site today as I am a virgin boat owner contemplating buying a 2001 Maxum 1900 SR. The boat is owned by the original owner and it is in out of water in covered storage and winterized. The owner is willing to put it in the water for a test drive - any suggestions on what to look for as a potential buyer?

Also boat does not come with a trailer. Showing my ignorance here, but can I just find any 19 foot trailer with a 3000+ weight limit to move this boat? Any and all suggestions welcome! This novice thanks you!

Welcome aboard

Yes the trailers are generic and have adjustable bunks or rollers.

Definitely take a test ride and use an IR temp sensor to take reading of the engine and exhaust components as they are water cooled. Ask the owner when was the raw water pump impeller last changed. Is this a fresh water boat or salt water? If salt ask how old the exhaust is.

Thanks - this is a freshwater boat on lake normand, NC.

One follow up on the trailer...I've found a 19 footer that came with a chaparral boat...I should be able to use that trailer with this boat, right? It says it is "welded" so not sure about the adjustments.

The trailer should work, bunks/rollers are adjustable and will probably need to be adjusted to your boats bottom.

Welcome aboard newbie!!

Thread moved from "Welcome Mat | New Member Introductions" to "Maxum Owners General Discussions"

Welded means the frame is welded as opposed to bolted. The rollers or bunks should still be adjustable.
