Default Icemaker troubleshooting

Have a 95 3200 scr bought recently, came with an icemaker in the cockpit. Searching the forums, I realize I have to
a) turn the water on from the galley switch
b) have water in the holding tank
c) have the icemaker bar down.
Still doesn't make ice.
Is there a power switch, or any thing that turns this on or off?
Or does anyone know who repairs these or comparable models that will fit in the same space with a lot of refabrication?
Thanks.

I have a friend who has an ice maker on his 1999 30' Chap and it has quit working again. I forget what he had to replace last year to get it running again ,but the service tech told him any ice maker over 5 or 6 years old if it is going to cost you over 200 bucks to fix buy a new one.

To answer your question there should be a switch on the ice maker itself. Call your marina or if you know a HVAC tech to help you out. They do make replacements.

Jam, there is a switch on the unit itself, behind the bottom air vent cover. Open the door to the unit and you will see a small opening to turn on with your finger. My unit is also wired thru a breaker on the main panel marked as a spare. Make sure you are plugged into shore power or genny running. The ice maker is 110v only.....hope this helps.

Check the price of an ice maker and size you will find it to cost closer to $1000.00 so go to the ice maker web site that fixs them to run like new and the reason they break is you do not turn them off and dry them out and crack the door so they rust. I posted so other data when I needed advise on my boat . It take a little time to get it out.

HavaMax is correct. Ours has a small rocker switch dead center below the bottom edge of the door. Our is shore power/genny only, no 12v.

Great stuff all, thanks. I was wondering what that other spare breaker was. One is for the micro, but I couldn't figure out what the 2nd one was for. Just came back from my boat, now I'm dying to go back and see if it works.

I think you'll find the spare breaker is for the ice machine We actually marked ours after realizing what it was for.
