Default Cover advice 4600 scb

I'm based on the West Coast of Scotland and basically we can can have all seasons in one day, rain, hail, sun etc.

It is my intention to update the covers on the boat and I notice that on any 4600 I look at over in the states it will have a Bimini cover with side enclosures. I can see the advantages of that due to our weather but I just wondered how practical you guys find it.

Secondly if you all agree its a good idea I noticed some go over the radar arch and some don't, any views? I would have thought the cover would be low over the step access to the bridge If you go this route?

Third question, anyone know if a template exists for these covers? Or if you would be willing to send me detailed photos of your particular cover.

Thanks

Ian

iantan I cannot not talk directly to this boat but many use the enclosure to protect from the elements and prolong their boating season.

LetasTopShop has the orgional patterns for Maxum boats.

I had a local canvas guy re-make mine. He reworked some panels. It's better than the original now.Click image for larger version

ian I read all the new posts each time I log on, even if I don't have anything to say. You never know what you might learn from a thread, even if you don't think it will apply to you at all. So that's probably why so many views and no response.

Ian ...all I can say is that you are one lucky guy to have such a boat like the 4600. I would get to know to good canvas man to help you out and toss ideas around to figure out what works best for you. They can be worth all the tea in china if you get a good one.

Good luck and give us some pictures of what is going on.

Thanks guys, being the only 4600 owner in the UK it's difficult to get advice from other owners. I have since done some more research and think I'll go ahead with the timber decking first and then do the Bimini cover. I was trying to decide too much in one weekend. Start of a new thread, timber decking.
