Default '95 3200 SCR Fridge

The original fridge in my 95 3200 SCR finally went, okay it lasted 22 years.
Model Norcold DE 541.
Replacement model is SUPPOSED to be DE 0041, I picked it up at local marine store.
It barely fit through the cabinet door, but got it in myself. Would have been easier with two people but it was one of those days.
It does fit exactly height and width.
But on my boat it does not fit in depth, the cabinet frame that makes up the cabinet behind the sink is in the way. By two inches.

It's either cut and redo the cabinet work to make this fridge fit in, or get another fridge. I decided to go with the Isotherm Cruise Elegant 130, on order now, but that will need some face frame work since it's smaller in size.

Anyone care to share pictures/experience/model fridges with their replacement of a 3200 SCR fridge?

Thanks.

Interesting. Here are the specs on both models:

Norcold DE-541:
-> Height: 30 7/8"
-> Wideth: 23 1/4"
-> Depth: 23 1/2"

Norcold DE-0041/EV-0041:
-> Height: 30 7/8"
-> Wideth: 23 1/4"
-> Depth: 23 1/2"

According to Norcold they are identical. Two inches would be a huge oversight.

Colored starboard will work as a flange to cover the gaps.

It's the way they are built.
The de 541 box itself is shorter but has external components lower on the back of the chassis making the overall depth the same. So measuring the depth at the top of the 541 is shorter than measuring at the middle and bottom. So where the 541 squeezes underneath, the 0041 hits that cabinet at the top right section in the back.

My Norcold stopped working two weeks ago the nearest fit for a new one was two inches too wide or too high cant remember so would have fitted with some messing around. Found the old fridge had a faulty thermostat so back to normal now working like a bought one. Is sixteen years old with new compressor fitted six years ago.

Sorry for the late reply Trevor. I just spoke with the electrician who fixed it and he said I just found one that fitted the hole. Sounds like we have identical fridges on the same model boat. I am in Sydney so I imagine in Canada you would have a whole heap of options. Let me know if you still have problems and I will source something for you here.

I broke down and bought a new one for $2500. Had to keep the beer cold. BTW I am a Bexley boy and the boat is the PlayM8. No worries. cheers.

I was quoted about that for a new one but the repair was under $200.00 and is now working normally. At least you should be right for many years.

Cooler and ice has worked for me for over 10 years.

Besides fridge isn't nearly large enough for beer. Maybe I have a problem?

Yeah that will work for a day or two but any longer got to have that fridge working. I know it not big enough for the beer but it is if you chuck out all the unnecessary foodstuff.

Beer in cooler. Food in Fridge. I spend 2 nights a week on anchor and have gone 18 days unplugged. I just spent 8 days/nights on anchor. It's ALL necessary.

Actually fridge isn't big enough to hold much beer. Cooler is good especially if you have an ice-maker..

It fit into the cabin a whole lot easier than the norcold.
As for the fridge opening, the fridge is smaller than the hole, so had to frame it with a smaller hole.
