Welcome aboard

Is the bottom free of marine growth?

Try using quicksilver prop calculator to see what it recommends verses what you have.

Prop Selector | Quicksilver Propellers | Mercury Marine

Lastly a compression test of the cylinders to ensure the engine is healthy.

I had 22s on 1993 2700 5.7 bravo 3 and was at over 5000 rpms. Got lucky and traded with someone with 24s. Now I'm at 4200 to 4600 depending how loaded and river currenr. Just love my maxum.

i get about 33 mph with 24s. i never have full tanks but i am on a river. full fuel and water tank is a lot of weight to be pushing around(gas at about 6lb a gallon and water at 8lb a gallon). do you use trim tabs? i start with mine down then adjust as needed as boat comes up on plane. when on plane they are up and only used to adjust for weight. these are not speed demons but cruise along very nice. also verify tach is accurate. some have a swich on back for number of cyl. 31mph fully loaded with a 5.7 is impressive.

I know they are not fast but in my mind I thought 3600 rpm is low maybe the rpm gauge is broken [emoji848]

I think what Dave was attempting to say was on the back of the tach is a switch to select for 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engine and to verify its in the 8 position. This switch sometimes causes issues so you may want to rotate it back and forth a few time as this wipes off and corrosion.

This may not be you issues but something to check.
