Default Leaking Head

New owner of a 2000 2800 SCR. We had electrical issues with the boat when we bought it in May, however we're finally able to get power to the head and get the electric pump working on the toilet. The toilet seems to work fine, brings raw water in, and flushes like it is designed. The problem now appears to be some minor leaking of water somewhere near the pump area. I put a towel down at the base of the toilet/pump area and after one night, the towel was fairly wet in the morning. No water visibly gushing out anywhere, just appears to be a small leak somewhere. Are there wear items like seals on the Jabsco 29200 toilet that need to be replaced? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Not fimilar with electric heads but did a Google for diagram of them and fairly basic. Yes there are seals including the joker valve like a manual toilet. Since it leaks when not in use I would assume the leak is on the input side coming from the seacock.

There are rebuild kits. I rebuilt mine because the rubber impeller swelled and wouldn't turn. It still leaks down after using it, though. Like you described. Bowl slowly drains. Don't know what it could be and don't have time to mess with it, so just make sure the bowl has clean water in it!

Elvertamike:
I have a toilet that leaked at the base. turned out that there is a plug on the side of the base to drain the water to keep it from freezing, the base had a crack in it and would leak all the time! Crack was on the bottom of the base and you could not see iy without removing the toilet!
Hope this helps!
Don

P.S. Where do you boat?
We are in the foot hills and boat in the lakes!

Hi Don:

We waited 6 years to finally get a spot at AT&T park in SF, finally came available in May. Bought the boat in Stockton and brought it up through the Delta into the Bay, great trip. Been working on all kinds of fix it projects so far, not much boating time, but have spent a lot of time on the boat. Thank you for the guidance.

Get a rebuild kit. One of your seals is leaking.

Finally, heading back to the boat next weekend, getting a rebuild kit to see if that works. I'll report back.

Thank you,

Mike
